Alexandra “Alex” is an enthusiastic, out-of-the-box thinker, who thrives in fast-paced customer facing roles. She graduated from the University of Colorado in 2016, where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and minored in Business, with an emphasis in innovation. Throughout her college career, she excelled while playing for the University of Colorado Women’s D1 Club Ice Hockey team in which she earned the “Freshman of the Year” award her freshman season, the “Most Valuable Player” award her sophomore season, was #1 leading points scorer her junior season and was elected by her fellow teammates/coaches to Captain the team her senior season. Alex exemplified her strength by leading by example and it showed both on the score board through goals and assists, as well as through leading her team in penalty minutes her junior and senior year. Along with university studies and collegiate athletics, Alex also worked for the Colorado Avalanche’s professional NHL team for three consecutive seasons.
Shortly after graduation, Alex was persistent in her efforts to obtain a role working for the largest SBA lender (Small Business Administration) in the country, which is located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Having never step foot in the state of NC, she took a leap of faith and moved across the country to pursue a well sought after role as a Relationship Manager & Business Analyst at Live Oak Bank. For two years she managed a portfolio of over 125 independent pharmacy owners, loans totaling over $150MM, located across the United States, performing quarterly financial reviews and traveling to see the borrowers face to face to discuss their business’s operations and performance. Alex was then promoted to AVP Credit Underwriter for SBB1 (Small Business Banking 1) at LOB, where she spent two years analyzing and underwriting SBA loans from as low as $350k to as high as $5MM. After her time at Live Oak Bank, she was offered a remote position as an AVP Commercial Credit Officer for a smaller SBA lender, 44 Business Capital – a division of Berkshire Bank, in which she underwrote, analyzed and assessed SBA loans and their credit risk to the bank. Throughout her five years in the SBA lending industry, Alex showed her competence, grit and perseverance as she also underwrote and processed countless PPP loans (Payroll Protection Program) during the 2019 Coronavirus Pandemic.
Currently, Alex works for the Colorado Avalanche’s professional NHL team in a part-time capacity as a member of the Avalanche Ice Patrol team. She is responsible for upholding the standards of the Colorado Avalanche Ice Patrol by maintaining the ice surface per National Hockey League Policies. Additionally, she promotes the Colorado Avalanche brand through tradeshows, watch parties, marketing, community and charity initiatives as well as interacts with executive NHL officials, players and fans in a professional and positive manner. Throughout her time within the SBA lending industry, professional hockey league and additional customer facing positions, Alex has obtained an immeasurable number of skills and abilities including, but not limited to, strong interpersonal, adaptability, problem-solving, clear communication, internal motivation, product knowledge, customer satisfaction and business development skills.
Alex is driven and eager to immerse herself within the B2B technology sales industry by bringing her decorated skillset and vibrant personality onto your team. She will always continue to be dedicated to personal and professional growth while embodying a leader by example mentality and remaining easily coachable. Alex is competent and capable and does not pretend to know the right answer. She is not afraid to manage difficult conversations with clients and excels in maintaining professional relationships for a lifetime. For these reasons, I am ecstatic and pleased to present her for a future position within your wonderful organization.
